My mission as a Creative Leader is to build inspiring narratives where both brands and the people who work on them, thrive. To find that magic intersection of a brand’s authentic story, popular culture, and an idea that sets that brand afire, helping it grow.
Embracing strategic desires, business objectives, customer analytics, while understanding people of all walks of life intimately enough to create and champion work that grows businesses, as well as creative careers… well that takes experience and a unique perspective. Here’s mine:
I grew up in Dover, Delaware, summered at the South Jersey Shore, only you never said “summered” or you’d get punched by the teenagers who worked at the boardwalk. Studied journalism and played baseball at Temple University in Philadelphia before working as an Account Executive on the Coca-Cola account in NYC. Moved to San Francisco because FCB was making Levi’s 501 work that gave me chills. Jumped to the creative department and spent 15 years winning virtually every creative award writing and Creative Directing globally famous campaigns for Levi’s, MTV, Fox Sports, and Sega as well as very good but not quite as famous work for Clorox, Taco Bell, Coors Brewing, Hilton Hotels, to name a few.
I added film direction to my arsenal when I moved to digital shop, Swirl McGarrybowen, and then to Baker Street SF, directing digital content and TV spots for eBay, Yahoo, Honda and the 3 time World Champion SF Giants, while simultaneously building thriving creative departments as Chief Creative Officer.
